Put your chemical engineering knowledge to the test against colleges around the region! Compete in this year’s southern regional jeopardy for a chance to make it to nationals.

Competition guidelines

  • Fair Play:

    • All participants are expected to uphold the AIChE Code of Ethics and compete with integrity.

  • Eligibility:

    • Each university may enter one team of four students in the regional competition. Schools interested in bringing a secondary “B team” may do so if additional team spots are available.

  • Competition Structure:

    • Every round includes six categories: five science/engineering-focused topics and one non-technical category.

    • The format follows the traditional Jeopardy setup with Single, Double, and Final Jeopardy.

    • Preliminary and semifinal rounds will take place on Friday, with the Regional Final held on Saturday.

  • Important Rules:

    • All answers must be given in the form of a question.

    • Incorrect responses will result in a deduction of points.

    • Only teams with a score above zero may participate in Final Jeopardy.

  • Buzzing & Timing:

    • Teams have up to five seconds after the clue is read to buzz in, and answers must be given without delay once recognized.
